All the answers to all your questions.

  • WHY LIVE OR STAY OVER IN A LITTLE LUXE HAUS ON WHEELS?

In a word, FREEDOM. Living in a tiny home on wheels offers the freedom to move. You may want a change of scenery, a move to be closer to family or the opportunity to have a smaller or larger allotment to park the home on. There may also be the need to vacate your land to avoid a natural weather event such as flooding, fires or wind.

Materials are also a huge reason why people are choosing to live or stay over in a tiny. The obvious is environmental impact, we not only build tiny luxurious spaces with less materials than the traditional ‘Australian Dream” we also responsibly source locally made materials and products for the homes. For example, by choosing a model with colorbond metal cladding we have it rolled and shaped by local manufacturers, great for the local community as well as the planet. This is something we take great pride in doing.

By going off grid you can also ease the burden we place on the planet by adding a solar system, rainwater harvesting and a composting waste water management system.

When it comes to local council zoning, tiny homes on wheels bypass the regulations and red tape that apply to traditional homes. For the most part they are recognised as a traditional caravan. Please ensure you check the local regulations that apply to your area.

  • Tiny Homes on wheels offer mobility and flexibility, letting you relocate easily while meeting regulatory requirements as a relocatable structure.

  • Permit requirements depend on your location. Tiny Homes on wheels are often classified as caravans and may not need traditional building permits.

  • A suitable vehicle and towing knowledge are essential. The Little Luxe range of tiny homes include engineered lightweight trailers and VicRoads registration for safe transport.

  • Their small size reduces resource use, The Little Luxe range of tiny homes use energy-efficient designs and Australian-sourced materials for sustainability.

  • By purchasing any of the Little Luxe Haus range you are choosing quality. Built by a team that has over 50 years experience building custom homes around Geelong and the Surfcoast you can be assured you are buying the very best in tiny homes.

The Farm Haus, Vine Haus and Club Haus are all built for the Air BnB or weekend stay market. These homes are built solidly, with a finish that is second to none built in line with our traditional custom builds. let’s say for example, and I’ll use my own story here, you get married at a lovely vineyard but you have to travel 20km away for your accommodation on your wedding night! Why wouldn’t you offer a package to the new bride and groom. They chose you in the first place and now you seal it with a Vine Haus stay.

A package allowing them a longer stay in your beautiful vineyard where they can awake to a breakfast…one they can put together themselves from local producers in your district. Wowee I’m sold on that!

The same excitement applies to the farm stay or golfing stay, but don’t choose something that will be remembered for a leaky roof, poor workmanship or fixtures that are cheap and already falling apart. Let them remember that beautiful Little Luxe Haus that they stayed in, the one they woke up and admired because it was the perfect little compliment to their surroundings.

Built well like my custom houses and costing little more than a better end caravan the Little Luxe Haus range is built to last as long as a regular home. When you are done it will be sold easily such is the quality of the Little Luxe Haus.

Check that the electricity cord you plan to use is sized correctly and in line with your amp service. depending on how you plan to use the tiny home you may only require a 120 amp lead. If you require more power to the tiny home you can hook up 240 amps instead.

Going off grid is a popular choice for many tiny home owners. It allows more flexibility saves money in the long run and as stated above is beneficial to the planet.

There is also another benefit to going with solar, you are mobile! The home can be manouvered to face a better orientation of the sun unlike the traditional home with its feet in the soil much like a tree. The roof of the tiny is not the limitation of your solar system, we can add a solar trailer with more panels if necessary. Put the tiny in the best position to take in your views and position the trailer for best solar gains.

Water is as simple as the electricity. Simply plug and play. If you are off grid a water harvesting arrangement with adequate catchment areas such as the tiny’s roof and an added verandah. A water tank with a pump and a filtration system can be easily fitted. The verandah can be incorporated with a deck with the added bonus of having somewhere to park the wet muddy boots before entering the tiny home. You may even be able to watch or listen to the sounds of nature from your beautiful undercover deck.
